So basically, VOCALOID is a voice sythesizer program that is meant for anime and stuff. Over the years confusion about VOACLOID's character has become jumbled beond repair. I'm here to bring you the TRUTH!
First off, VOCALOID actually only has a couple of official character. The rest are just variations or misconseptions. Of course, the main character is Miku Hatsune. This fact is undesputed. But after that came Ren and Len. Ren and Len are NOT TWINS! They're supposed to represent mirriors of each other. And though I don't know the order after that, there was KAITO, Luka, and MEIKO.
This VOALOID2, VOCALOID one isn't important cause no one uses it ;P
MEIKO and Luka also have english ver, btw.

So Neru and Haku are just different names and personalities for Miku. Haku is the term you use when the creator gets lazy and doesn't put the right pitch, (thats why she's drunk, get it? *.*) but her voice also has cool background effect too. And Neru is used for the lower pitches of Miku's voice. People wanted a tsudere-like character, thus, Neru was born!
